Day Wise Itinerary

DAY 1: 

Arrive at Belgrade International airport and you will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel.
Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, is one of the oldest cities in Europe, the city with extraordinary history that lays on two rivers is nowadays a modern city with numerous sights that are worth visiting.
Check in to the hotel and the rest of the day is free at leisure.

DAY 2: 

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy your Belgrade panorama & walking downtown tour (up to 4h), with a visit to Museum of Yugoslavia and St Sava temple. Experience the most important landmarks in Belgrade on this panoramic tour.

DAY 3: 

  • After breakfast, enjoy your day tour to Sremski Krlovci and Novi Sad from Belgrade (approx 7-8 hours tour)
  • Departure from Belgrade in the morning and drive to Sremski Karlovci (approx. 1hour drive)
  • Arrive to Sremski Karlovci, a small baroque town where the Treaty of Karlowitz was signed at the end of Great Turkish War in 1699. Explore the streets of the town, visit a Local winery and taste “bermet” wine (sweet wine which was served on Titanic) and visit to Chapel of Peace
  • Departure from Sremski Karlovci and drive to Petrovaradin fortress (approx. 15 mins drive), great works of architecture and human effort. As well the venue where Exit music festival is held every summer. You will be stunned with breath taking view from this location, overlooking the Danube and city of Novi Sad.
  • After exploring Sremski Karlovci, drive over Bridge of Freedom to Novi Sad and enjoy Novi Sad city center sightseeing tour. Novi Sad city center has a number of noteworthy buildings and monuments, mostly in the Baroque style.
  • Depart Nov Sad and proceed to Salas. “Salas” is an authentic Serbian household, where you can feel the charms of “salas” way of life in a peaceful atmosphere, with no hurry. At the “salas” you can have lunch (on own, not included).
  • Return back to Belgrade. *On the way back if time permits we can stop in Indjija Fashion park.

DAY 4: 

  • Early morning, check out and proceed for the House on Drina, Drvengrad, Sargan 8 Railroad and Zlatibor.
  • After 3h drive we’ll stop to make a photo near little wooden house, built on the rock island in the middle of the powerful river. It is one of the most unique and well-known photo locations in Serbia. Famous National Geographic magazine in one of their competitions in 2012, awarded first place for the photography of this astonishing site. Take a short break near Drina river house for taking photos. There is also restaurant where you can have some refreshments (on own, not included). (We suggest tasting raspberry juice, as the whole area is famous by raspberry production)
  • Drive onwards to Wooden city – Drvengrad (1h). Visit Drvengrad (Timber Town), It was created by the famous Serbian film director Emir Kusturica (twice winner of Palm d’Or on Cannes film festival) as a set for one of his movies. Now days Drvengrad is beautiful, small resort, also known as Mecavnik, surrounded by nature, offering great insights in traditional Serbian village architecture, cuisine and culture.
  • At 1330 hours, board the Sargan 8 railroad train. Enjoy views of unspoiled Serbian countryside from the Sargan Eight railroad. This narrow track railroad overcomes the altitude difference of 300 meters, on a total distance of 15 kilometers on a circular rout that was created in the shape of number 8. This railroad dates from 1925 and has 30 tunnels and 15 bridges. Train ride takes 2.5h, with several stops included, offering great photo opportunities.
  • After train ride check-in to Mecavnik or drive to hotel on Zlatibor

Overnight in Mokra Gora or Zlatibor, depends on availability.

DAY 5: 

Today the day is free to relax and explore Zlatbor on your own. A romantic region of gentle mountains, traditions and hospitality, Zlatibor is located in western Serbia, with Tara National Park to the north and Zlatar mountain to the south. The region’s name serves as a poetic introduction; Zlatibor means ‘golden pine’. Not far beyond the resort are quaint villages worth visiting.
Overnight in Mokra Gora or Zlatibor, depends on availability.

DAY 6: 

  • After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Uvac Nature Reserve (approx 45 minutes drive).
  • Explore the Nature Reserve of Uvac, which is considered the most beautiful natural attraction in Serbia. Since it is not frequently visited by tourists, this peaceful reserve with untouched nature is a perfect place to find inner peace
  • The Lake cruise usually starts at 10am. 10:00-14:00 Uvac Nature Reserve visit, with lake cruise and hiking to spectacular viewpoint. Hiking takes approximate 20 minutes up and after more 20 minutes back to boat. *It is not that difficult, but there is uphill and downhill, so grandparents should be in ok physical conditions.
  • Break for lunch after the tour (on own, not included)
  • Drive to Vrnjacka Banja (approx 3h). It attracts health-seekers looking to take to the same therapeutic waters as the ancient Romans, 19th-century socialites and communist bigwigs before them. A huge range of wellness treatments is available.

DAY 7: 

  • Check out of the hotel and drive from Vrnjacka Banja to Manasija Monastery (1h 40 min)
  • Visit to Manasija Monastery – one of the most significant monuments of medieval Serbian culture.
  • Short drive to The 80 million-year-old Resava cave (approx 30 minutes drive) to explore its massive halls, columns, draperies, and flowstone walls.
  • Short drive to Veliki Buk waterfall (approx 30 minutes drive) – one of the highest in Serbia at 65 feet (20 meters) tall. *Just near waterfall there is a nice restaurant, where you can have a lunch (on own, not included)
  • Drive back to Belgrade (approx 2h 15 min)

DAY 8: 

  • Today after breakfast, enjoy your tour to Zemun
  • 10:00 – 12:00 Zemun is part of Belgrade built on the right bank of the Danube river. Zemun is known for many fresh fish restaurants, riverside promenade and Gardos tower.
  • 12:00 Transfer to Shopping Mall Usce and free time. Make your way back to the hotel on own. The mall is near the city centre.

DAY 9: 

  • 8:00 Departure from Belgrade to Golubac Fortress (1h 45 min drive)
  • Visit to Golubac fortress – Golubac fortress is located at the entrance to the Iron Gate, the longest gorge in Europe. Explore its visitor center, walk along the Danube river, and enjoy the beautiful views of the river.
  • Drive from Golubac to Lepenski vir (30 min) Visit to Lepenski vir – oldest urban settlement of humans in Europe which dates back to 9500 BC. The site consists of one large settlement and around ten satellite villages. Numerous sculptures and peculiar styles of architecture have been found at the site and most of them can be seen during your visit.
  • Drive to Viminacim (1h 30 min) *On the way to Viminacium we will stop for lunch break. (lunch on own, not included) Visit to Viminacium – Archaelogical site, where you can see fascinating Roman remains and discover what life here would have been like during this era. Explore the remains of its mausoleum, amphitheater, and baths. Hear about the ancient city, the capital of the Roman province Moesia Superior, and the military camp located in this area during the Roman era. Drive back to Belgrade (1h 20 min)

DAY 10: 

  • Drive from the hotel to the lab for PCR test
  • Drive from lab to Avala tower (30 min) – symbol of Belgrade and its surroundings. At 204.8 meters, this is the tallest building in the Balkans, and serves amazing panoramic views of the city and its surroundings.
  • Drive to Oplenac Royal complex (1h 10 min). Oplenac complex is dedicated to the royal family of Karadjordjevic. The complex consists of: Karadjordje’s house (konak), king Peter’s house, St. George’s church and a royal wine cellar. The most impressive is interior of church – adorned with magnificent frescoes mosaics, made from 40 million pieces of colored Murano glass.
  • Drive back to Belgrade (1h)

DAY 11: 

Check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight back.
